Online | 2-4 Years Duration | 81-82 Credit Hours

Understand how to properly care for and educate young children from birth through age eight. The Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education major includes topics that allow you create developmentally appropriate activities for infants, toddlers, preschool, and primary grade children up to second grade. It also includes field experience, so you graduate with the knowledge, skills, and experience needed for Minnesota Early Childhood Education Licensure (birth through third grade).

Online | 3 Years Duration | 80-81 Credit Hours

Gain experience working with young children identified as having special needs at the start of your B.S. in Early Childhood Special Education degree program. You’ll gain the foundation to work with infants, toddlers, and young children with disabilities from the time of their birth through the age of six. Graduate ready to earn your ECSE license so you can either work with at-risk children and their parents (birth through 35 months) in a home-based setting or teach children ages 3-6 who have special needs in an early childhood setting.

Prepare for education careers that take you outside of the classroom with Southwest Minnesota State University’s online Bachelor of Science in Educational Studies. You can finish your program in three to four years and earn a degree accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. Choose an emphasis in Early Childhood or Elementary Education.

Online | 3-4 Years Duration | 77-78 Credit Hours

Gain teaching licensure in the state of Minnesota when you graduate with a B.S. in Elementary Education with the knowledge and field experience needed to teach in K-8 classrooms.

Online | 2-3 Years Duration | 69-70 Credit Hours

Complete the coursework and field experiences necessary to gain your Academic and Behavioral Strategist (ABS) licensure. Graduates of the B.S. in Special Education Academic Behavioral Strategist Program will be able to teach K-12 special education for students with mild to moderate disabilities.

Graduate from the B.S. in Teaching English as a Second Language degree program with the knowledge and field experience necessary needed to obtain a Tier 3 license in K-12 Teaching English as a Second Language in the state of Minnesota.

Online | 2 Years Duration | 35-40 Credit Hours

The M.S. in Education provides students with 19 credits of core courses designed around the National Board of Professional Teaching Standards and 15-18 credits that provide a professional emphasis on teaching, learning and leadership. While there are seven emphasis areas, students who pursue the K-12 Reading and TESL emphases graduate with Minnesota licensure in these areas.

Complete the M.S. in Special Education with the knowledge and field experiences needed to meet the needs of a special education classroom for children K-12 and obtain Minnesota state teaching licensure in one or more of the following areas: Autism Spectrum Disorder, Academic Behavioral Strategist, Developmental Disabilities, Early Childhood Special Education, Emotional Behavioral Disabilities, or Learning Disabilities.
